As you may know, Softletter, now in its 28th year of
publication, publishes a series of annual surveys that examine every aspect of
running a successful software business. This survey covers sales compensation
processes and practices for a software firm's direct sales and telesales force. Take the survey if your company supports direct sales, telesales or both.
We're looking for some fairly standard information and will
use this data to identify trends and current benchmarks that you can use to determine how your own numbers, processes and practices compare to those of comparable
companies. The categories of questions we'll be asking cover:
- Company profiles, including type of software sold (mobile, OEM, on premise and SaaS)
- Close Rates, Managerial Performance and Sales Plan Goals
- Sales Salaries and Variable Compensation
- Sales Compensation Tools
- Recruitment, Training and Incentives
The entire survey is 35 to 70 questions, based on conditional responses, and should take approximately 20 to 30 minutes to complete. Please pass this invitation
along to a colleague in the industry who you feel should participate.
Everyone who supplies data for this survey will receive a
complimentary copy of the complete summary results in an upcoming special issue of Softletter. Of course, all responses will
be strictly confidential. We won't disclose or identify data about any
individuals or about participating companies. Please note that
if you do not complete the entire survey, we can't send you a complete summary copy of
the results. Further results will also be provided at Softletter's upcoming SaaS and Cloud Applications University in Austin, Texas May 13th - 15th.
Also note that we will be sending the summary results via E-mail;
if you provide us with a non-working address you won't receive the results.
